Editorial Reviews:
A Carpathian event-the new hardcover from the phenomenal New York Times bestselling author.

Christine Feehan returns to the sensual Carpathian world that has earned her a reputation as "the queen of paranormal romance" (USA Today) in a new novel of true love and the unnatural forces that could destroy it.

Dangerously close to becoming a vampire, Manolito De La Cruz has been called back to his Carpathian homeland-and has unexpectedly caught the scent of his destined lifemate, MaryAnn Delaney. MaryAnn is human and well aware of the aggressive instincts of Carpathian males. A counselor for battered women, MaryAnn has no room in her life for someone like Manolito. But when she goes to South America to offer guidance to a young woman, she has no idea of the trap awaiting her. For she's been lured there by Manolito, who has seductive plans for the irresistible human female.

Once there, she'll be his. Once his, she'll never be released. She is his dark possession.

One Of The Best
5 out of 5 stars.
This is by far one of the best books in this series. I have read the entire series and I recommend this book extremely highly. The characters are full and rich, the plot is more complex than some of the others and I have now read this book 3 times. If you enjoy this series, do not hesitate to purchase this next installment, it is definitely worth the price. My hat is off to Christine Feehan since after so many novels she could make this one so very complex and thoroughly riveting.

love Christine Feehan books this one...wasn't my favorite
3 out of 5 stars.
I love her books but this one just didn't give the readers what they want. So the girl in the book turns out to have a wolf spirit in her and Manilito claimed her without her knowing it...but it got confusing with him half there and not there...is he a bloody ghost???Then it got into the Jaguar people...who cares...it was not her best book. Everyone wants to read Rhianna's brother's storm Dominic's story. I want to read Skyler and Dmitri's story...that would be awesome.

Dark Possession: Good follow-up book in the series
5 out of 5 stars.
Very good book...I'm sure everyone wondered what would happen to MaryAnne. I liked this book because the protagonists turn out to me more...equal...than in previous books in the "Dark" series. MaryAnne was a total surprise...to herself as well as to the reader!

What a disappointment
2 out of 5 stars.
Let me start by saying that I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the previous books in this series--even the one where I hated the hero (shockingly it was one of Manolito's brothers). Mary Ann was not the same character in this book as she was in Dark Destiny. That was the first mistake. The second mistake is a lack of story. I felt like I was reading a bit of porn rather than the usual erotica--I finished the book a couple of weeks ago and am still waiting for a plot to show up.

I liked Manolito in Dark Celebration and was, in fact, expecting Dark Possesson to be, more or less, a continuation. Eh, no. I liked Mary Ann in Dark Destiny and expected her to be about the same if not more mature. Eh, no.

Still waiting for the plot to show up. Not sure but this may be the last one that I lay money out for. This is sad because I've been waiting for Nicholas' story.

Different formula than other 'Dark' books
4 out of 5 stars.
At first I really didn't like this book. Mary Ann's character was a total 'Diva' who was more concerned about the state of her boots than helping her dying lifemate. Manolito was also a bit different from Feehan's typical Carpathian male. He was confused and weak, unable to distinguish who was friend or foe.

BUT---to be fair as the story progressed, I realized why Manolito was having problems and why Mary Ann was being SO strong willed. It took a few chapters but after being taken aback initially, the book began to steadily grow on me and I really got into the story.

Feehan changes things up in this installment, giving us a new species and an unusual danger to Manolito and Mary Ann. We are also introduced to characters that we've heard about through out the entire Dark series but never met.

All in all a great story, with lots of twists and turns, steamy sex and danger, plus we have some suprises with the jaguar race and Mary Ann's conversion as well.

Although this book is slightly different from Feehan's usual format, it was a nice change, just different enough to spice things up a bit and keep me interested.
