| Editorial Reviews: | | | | | Plantronics' mission is to enhance personal communication. Plantronics helps make people more productive, safe, and comfortable improving the clarity of communications. Plantronics is committed to ensuring that its products meet customer requirements and are committed to quality and customer satisfaction. | | | | For the ultimate in wireless freedom, look no further than the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset, which represents a generational leap in Bluetooth headset technology. The 510 is comfortable and light enough for all day wear, and it offers unprecedented clarity and sound quality. These are great features, but the real revolution involves Plantronics' exclusive "Multipoint" technology, which allows the headset to function as a powerful communication solution for up to two Bluetooth devices. With Multipoint technology you can switch between your voice-enabled Bluetooth mobile phone, PDA or laptop. The headset's "smart" technology knows which device you are using and allows you to take calls from any device at the touch of a button. With the optional Plantronics Bluetooth Deskphone Adapter you can even switch between your office phone and your Bluetooth mobile phone. You'll never need to use a dedicated "landline" phone headset again. The 510 features a noise-canceling microphone for clearer conversations, and it folds for easy storage. The boom also swivels for perfect positioning on either ear. One-touch call control buttons are placed for easy access, and you can easily redial the last number dialed and initiate voice-activated calls from the headset. Because the 510 is Bluetooth-enabled (it supports the Bluetooth 1.2 specification) you can roam up to 33 feet from your Bluetooth device. Meanwhile, the 510 supports adaptive frequency hopping (AFH) which helps avoid interference from wi-fi networks. Ample talk time is provided by the built-in rechargeable battery; you'll get up to 6 hours talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time. | |

| | I like that this product because it has separate buttons for volume and on/off and call answer. It is very easy to use and has good sound clarity.
| | | Recently I upgraded from the Plantronics 220 to the Voyager 510. Unlike the smaller 220, it is definitely larger and you certainly won't forget that you have it on. The power button is not located in the easiest of places either. One must turn it on prior to affixing to the ear. The call button is located on the side for easy access. The wind-screened boom mike is flexible and is a nice addition. Clarity is great while working indoors. The jury is out on the wind/noise cancellation feature. While driving, people still have a hard time hearing me. That also applies when outdoors. Reception away from my cell phone becomes muddled after about 18 feet. Which is great compared to other units that I have operated in the past. Like all Plantronics Bluetooth gear, the 510 programs easily to my phone. Battery life is averaging about 6 hours. Retail outlets including the always overpriced, overrated BestBuy are selling the Voyager 510 for $79.99. As usual Amazon offers it at a better price at $42 bucks.
| | | Pros: Reasonable price & clear sound & well fitted earbuds. Con: Battery run time is a bit short. It says 6 hours but I think it only lasts for about 4 hours.
| | | I found this product to be just ok. It does the job but the controls aren't placed or sized very well. The earpiece feels much looser than I thought it would be. I have to hold it in place with one hand to be able to hear what the caller is saying. I've put it away in a drawer I don't plan to use it much.
| | Great BT headset but keep it dry. | |
| | This Bluetooth headset works great with my iPhone but be advised to take it off if your going to get sweaty. I was working in the yard with mine and the sweat dripped onto the power connector and corroded the connections so it would no longer charge. A friend of mine had another problem where his microphone quit working because he got sweat on the mic.
I liked this model so much I bought another one to solve my problem but now I take if off when I might get sweaty.
