Editorial Reviews:
The new "extended edition" of this ground-breaking feature length movie presentation reveals The Great Secret of the universe. It has been passed throughout the ages, traveling through centuries... to reach you. This is The Secret to everything - the secret to unlimited joy, health, money, relationships, love, youth: everything you have ever wanted. In this astonishing program are ALL the resources you will ever need to understand and live The Secret. For the first time in history, the world's leading scientists, authors, and philosophers will reveal The Secret that utterly transformed the lives of every person who ever knew it... Plato, Newton, Carnegie, Beethoven, Shakespeare, Einstein. Now YOU will know The Secret. And it can change your life forever.
Not really a movie or documentary, The Secret is more of a video seminar, a presentation featuring a series of authors, philosophers, doctors, quantum physicists, entrepreneurs, and spiritual practitioners expounding on the powers of The Secret (probably the most well-known of the presenters is Jack Canfield, author of Chicken Soup for the Soul and The Success Principles). What is The Secret, exactly? "That principle can be summed up in three simple words: thoughts become things," proclaims writer Mike Dooley, author of Notes from the Universe. Put it another way, it?s The Power of Positive Thinking and how it can be applied to attracting more money, better health, and relationships; in short, happiness. (There is a rundown of topics on the DVD Chapters menu).

Most of the material here is given in a straightforward manner, with the presenters simply talking into the camera to address the audience directly, which is good because it avoids the trap of pretense. On the other hand, the quick edits between presenters (would it hurt to let them say more than one sentence at a time?) don't help because it reduces many of their points to palatable sound bites and aphorisms. To many viewers, this may make the program come across as a series of nice ideas not rooted in reality. Plus it's somewhat spurious to claim that The Secret was well understood and practiced by specific individuals like Plato or Shakespeare (it's well known that some of the historical figures noted didn't exactly live happy or even prosperous lives, despite their achievements). But still, the primary message is one of positivity and hope for everyone. So what to make of it? In the end, programs like this generally find an audience that is open to the message, and many will probably find it to be a source of inspiration. Others will approach it with a good deal of skepticism or dismiss it as another way of marketing happiness the masses. It simply won?t resonate with everyone, but if it resonates with you, you're likely to enjoy it and get a lot out of it. Those looking for more on The Secret might want to check out the companion book by Rhonda Byrne. --Daniel Vancini

Pleased as Punch!

Thank you very much for your prompt delivery. The DVD is in excellent shape. Would highly recommend your products.

Never got it
3 out of 5 stars.
The buyer contacted me to tell me it was unavailable and I was promptly reimbursed. No feedback because it was neither good nor bad. Bad that I didn't get the DVD but good that the buyer wrote to tell me and gave me a refund without me asking.

nicely packaged new age drivel
1 out of 5 stars.
I see other reviews on here that say it all but I still wanted to throw my two cents out there.

As someone in the healing arts, this video came to me via colleagues a few years ago. They were touting it as the greatest thing since sliced bread and I finally sat down to watch it with them, finding myself thoroughly disappointed.

I will say it's quite well done in terms of the use of music and imagery to elicit certain emotional responses. It has an inpirational feel to it, no doubt. And for someone with no prior exposure to the concept of creating your own reality, the truth and power of that, this might prove to be an eye opener.

But for anyone who has already been on this path for a while it's just materialism, or what I've heard called "spiritual window shopping." The ideas and theories are powerful, but why is the focus so entirely upon how to bring more money into your life? I'm not saying that wanting wealth is incompatible with a spiritual life - far from it. But is the best use of positive intention really all about bigger houses and fancy cars?

What I found woefully lacking here was attention on inner richness, connection, relationships and love. I came away from this shaking my head and thinking it was totally missing the point. The more I heard people raving about it, the more it bothered me because this is creating more shallow intention out there.

Why not focus on creating radiant health and teaching self healing, how to form spiritually charged, lasting relationships and how to contribute something worthy to the world? By the Law of Attraction, the natural reciprocation of that would be abundance. But there are so many forms of abundance and I felt that this DVD only focused upon one; financial wealth.

And again, once it was featured on Oprah, you couldn't stop off for a green tea or Yerba Mate anywhere without some stranger exclaiming "Have you seen The Secret?!" Lord people, think for yourselves. Please.

This is all style and no substance.

Don't believe the negative comments
5 out of 5 stars.
Im not much of a review writer but I felt it necessary due to all the other comments. They call it "The Secret".. and even though we all know these things (instinct, intuition, the bible, physics, etc), its difficult for anyone to assemble them in a pretty little package and use them in every day life. I have been following "The Secret" for years without knowing it. This movie sort of connected the dots and filled in the blanks. I'm a very intelligent, rational person and know this is the real deal. I have personally benefited from whats talked about and it does truly change your life.

The comments below are NEGATIVE. and in the movie itself it says that negativity attracts more negativity so if these people have that attitude they will get more of the same. Its just the laws of physics. This is not about money, this is about a spiritual journey to whatever you want in life (its true and it really works). If it were about money there would have been a blockbuster release, sex scenes, a plot, an ending, action, actors, etc.. This has none of the above. Just solid advice.

If you choose to not watch this movie based on these comments below then its a sad day for you. Its only $5 bucks online for an incalculable return on your life.

A Good Beginning
4 out of 5 stars.
"The Secret" is a good beginning for those interested in understanding the Law of Attraction, positive thinking and visualization.

The information is presented in an interview style format. Some of the contributors include: Joe Vitale (writer of "The Attractor Factor"), Michael Bernard Beckwith (founder of Agape Spiritual Center) and Jack Canfield (co-founder of the "Chicken Soup" series).

The presentation is superb and I believe this is one of the best marketed DVDs in recent years. While "The Secret" presents many engaging personalities and thoughts, still it is an introductory material--highly accessible but insufficient on its own to really make practical changes in your life.

For those looking for more depth, you will need to explore other books.

One of the best books I've read is "Nexus: A Neo Novel." It's an amazing journey of people looking for personal growth at a spiritual retreat. The inspiration and challenges that people face in "Nexus: A Neo Novel" reinforce many of the concepts found in "The Secret."
